About This Site

Home

This web site was designed primarily to provide information on human health and ecological risk assessments of West Nile virus and tactics used for mosquito management. The work presented here was accomplished through a grant from the U.S. Department of Defense's Deployed War Fighter Protection Program and administered by the Armed Forces Pest Management Board. Additional support is from the Montana Agricultural Experiment Station, Montana State University.

Dr. Robert K.D. Peterson is Associate Professor of Entomology at Montana State University, where he leads research, teaching, and outreach program in Agricultural and Biological Risk Assessment.

Jerome Schleier is a graduate student at Montana State University working towards an Ph.D. degree in Ecology and Environmental Sciences.  He received his Master of Science degree from Montana State University in Land Resources and Environmental Science. He received his undergraduate degree from Pacific University in Environmental Science with emphasis in toxicology and biology. His disertation project is developing a model that can estimate environmental concentrations of mosquito adulticides used for mosquito management and the human and ecological risks.

Dr. Paula Macedo was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Montana State University, where she worked on human-health risk assessment of vector-borne diseases and vector control tactics. She is currently Laboratory Director at the Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District in Elk Grove, CA.

Jerome Schleier currently maintains the site. Please send questions or comments to jeromes@montana.edu
